What are they?
STRECKKOD HP is a resonator bass trap, designed to complement the low frequency absorption of the STRECKKOD product family and STRECKKOD BT traps, providing acoustic solutions for control rooms, mastering rooms, home studios, etc.
It is part of the Streckkod product range

STRECKKOD HP is a resonance membrane-based bass trap, designed to be installed in the corner of the room. It has a rigid exterior structure made from wood and a front end based on our Streckkod panel with MLS grooves. The inside of the trap combines an absorbent, high-density acoustic foam core, two resonance chambers and a pressure membrane tuned to 100Hz, forming a resonator set that acts with the pressure of the incidental sound waves.
The front wooden panel includes a series of MLS diffusion grooves, which allow two functions to be obtained: they provide high-frequency absorption to control reflections from the corners without dampening the sound, while it simultaneously acts as a medium frequency diffusor.
STRECKKOD HP is available in four elegant finishes: 'Nordic', ‘Cerise’, and black or white lacquered.
Technical foundations
When the porous materials, such as the foam, are installed in corners and on walls, they become less efficient in handling the lowest frequencies, because the speed of the particles, associated with the movement of the air, is very low with long wavelengths (bass frequencies). However, in this position the sound pressure is at its maximum. The Streckkod HP internal membrane operates with the wave pressure, vibrating in harmony with a range of frequencies from 90Hz to 105Hz. The membrane converts the fluctuation of the air pressure in motion, which passes through the high-density absorbent core, reducing the energy of the low frequencies.
What is it for?
STRECKKOD HP was designed to control low frequency reverberation and to reduce the effects of stationary waves in music studios, control rooms, mastering rooms, Hi-Fis, radio/television studios, etc.
Streckkod HP bass traps are highly recommended for smaller rooms (< 14m2) with low frequency problems.
What is their format?
- Basstraps measuring: 595mm x 595mm x thickness of 134mm
- Colours: Nordic, Cerise, White or Black
- Boxes of: 2 units. - area coverage = 0.71 m2
- Normal packaging: 63cm x 34cm x 65cm (0,14m3 / 15 Kg.)
Where is it installed?
Streckkod HP bass traps perform best when installed in the corner of the room. The design of its structure allows more units to be added by stacking them, forming columns of up to 3 units (180cm in height).
It is also possible to install them on a wall. In this case, their performance will depend on their position. For this, their position must be adjusted to ensure proper functioning:
- 63Hz : should be situated 2.4m from the closest corner.
- 80Hz : should be situated 1.8m from the closest corner.
- 100Hz : should be situated 1.4m from the closest corner.
- 125Hz : should be situated 1.0m from the closest corner.
